ASBO CHIC

  • Brighton bad boy Korrell Kennedy was
banned aged 14 from most of the East Sussex city after his last crime wave and vowed he would turn his life around, and probably the last thing he expected  was to be scouted at a tattoo parlour (he already has two, including one of a banksy artwork on his back) putting career plans to become a plumber on hold, within a week of signing with mandp models he had booked his first shoot with i-D magazine and this summer feature on the  s/s Jean Paul Gautier runway in paris, definitely one to watch...

Lots of Love for Luella

I was saddened to hear that Luella Bartley had to close her fashion line, one of the many victims of the recession. However she has produced a lovely book to help the Luella British qwirky/chic style live on!
Its not a style guide as such but more of a love letter to English style and English girls, writing about everything from Horsey Sloans to scruffy tomboys and Vivienne Westwood to Kate Moss. Filled with fabulous illustrations, inspirations and information.

Los Angeles-based eyewear company Oliver Peoples has been introducing its seasonal eyewear collections with short films to complement its ad campaigns, featuring personalities such as Robert Evans, Zooey Deschanel and Elijah Wood. The fourth effort features nouveau folk-rock crooner Devandra Banhart and his other half, Rebecca Schwartz, in various states of lounge in effortlessly sporting the glasses.

The advert comprises of a "real couple, not a fake 'now you two look like you are in love' kind of thing that always looks set up." Director Lisa Eisner "She said she drew inspiration from French New Wave movies, which are hard not to be inspired by when it comes to sexy and relationships, like Godard's 'Une Femme Mariée' and 'Vivre Sa Vie,' Agnes Varda's 'Le Bonheur' and Eric Rohmer's 'La Collectionneuse.'" Banhart and Schwartz are outfitted in shades from Oliver Peoples spring and summer 2011 collection, priced from $285 to $500

Bvlgari Bijoux

Whilst in Paris for new year I had the chance to visit the the Grand Palais  for their extravagant Bvlgari exhibition “125 years of Italian magnificence” looks back at the main episodes in the history of Bulgari, from the opening of its first shop on Rome’s via Sistina in 1884 to the present day. This is a real saga illustrated by over 600 masterpieces of jewellery, watch and clock-making and precious items, including one hundred exclusive pieces, on public display for the first time.

This exhibition was divided into 8 themes:
(1) From it’s Origins to the 40′s
(2) ’50s ’60s High Jewellery of Dolce Vita
(3) ’50s ’60s Colour Revolution
(4) ’70s Eclectic Creativity’
(5) The BVLGARI Icons’
(6) ’80s ’90s Opulence & Colour
(7) The Elizabeth Taylor Collection
(8) High Jewellery of the 21st Century

Some are from Bvlgari’s Vintage collection, an outstanding historic treasure kept in the company’s archives, while others have been lent specially for the event from private collections by owners like Elisabeth Taylor, of whom Richard Burton wickedly said: “The only Italian word she knows is Bvlgari”

Grazia's videos with a range of guests from the evening, but this has to be one of the highlights with Henry Holland having a' fashion off' with Hillary Alexander (Fashion Director of The Telegraph)

I had the pleasure of meeting Henry Holland at the launch of his debut H! range for Debenhams, He is such a down to earth, loverly guy unlike the majority of blackberry throwing divas of the industry.
